Somerset County Police Academy We provide both financial support and Police Officers to assist the the Academy staff in all facets of instruction. Higher and continuing education remains a top priority and we are committed to assist the Police Academy so it may remain one of the finest police educational facilities in the State. Police Youth Week This program is run at the Somerset County Police Academy during the summer. As part of this program, high school students, nominated by their respective schools, receive an intense one-week training program modeled after the Academy’s Basic Police Recruit Training Program. To learn more about the program click HERE Scholarship Program: We are proud to award 5 scholarships to high school seniors each year in an effort to help them continue their education. Now more then ever education is the key to future success. Applications are accepted from February 1 – May 15, each year. Click the HERE for more information and an application. County Teams: We are very fortunate in Somerset County to have specialized teams of Officers to help protect us and investigate specific crimes. The Somerset County Police Chiefs Association gives financial support and provides Officers to the following teams and programs
D.A.R.E: The Somerset County Association of Chiefs of Police give time, Police Officer's and financial aid to support the Drug Abuse Resistance Education "D.A.R.E" programs. Camp Okee sunokee: The camp is
for children with learning disabilities or Asperger's
Syndrome. The camp encourages the development of recreation and social skills
and enhances self-confidence and educational growth through the participation in
a variety of activities and we are happy to be a part of this. For many years,
we held a fishing derby for the kids and this year we decided to mix it up and
display some of the police equipment we thought the children would enjoy
learning about. We enjoy having lunch and
